London and Maddie brought home the following good news in their backpack mail from Mendham Township Superintendent of Schools Kristopher Harrison:
RE: Mendham Township Elementary School Principal Update
Dear MTES Community,
The search is currently underway to identify the next leader of Mendham Township Elementary School. The community of Mendham Township is very fortunate to have had a large number of highly qualified candidates apply for the vacancy. Interviews have begun, and a group of semi-finalists has been selected to go before an interview committee comprised of parents, teachers, and school administrators. It is reasonable to predict that the Board of Education will appoint the successful applicant in January, with an initial employment date in the month of March.
At last night’s [December 9, 2008] Board of Education Meeting, Mrs. Catherine Mozak [who served as interim superintendent of schools until Kristopher Harrison's arrival on November 17th] was appointed as the interim principal and will serve in this capacity until the arrival of a new principal. Mrs. Mozak will continue to collaborate with the school staff to provide the outstanding educational experiences that you have come to expect.
It is important to acknowledge the wonderful work of Mrs. Sandra Cullis, curriculum specialist, who worked diligently to lead MTES over the past weeks with Mrs. Mozak. Mrs. Cullis will still be available to support the operational and instructional needs of the elementary school; however, she will return the majority of her focus to district-wide curricular initiatives.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
Respectfully,
Kristopher Harrison
[Superintendent of Schools]
