For anyone in the Mendham, Chester, and Bernardsville, New Jersey area looking for a terrific pre-school (”early childhood education”), our family (and many of the other Roxiticus Desperate Housewives) wholeheartedly endorses Westmont Montessori School in Mendham, NJ. We’ve been done here since Maddie started Kindergarten at Mendham Township Elementary School last year, but we had a great bunch of years (age 2 through 5) there. Westmont Montessori was an amazing experience not just for our kids but for the adult friendships that started there and continue on.
Westmont Montessori School, established 1964, is the premier Montessori school in Morris County, New Jersey. Their programs include:
- Toddler program for 2-year-olds (Maddie started in Westmont’s toddler program. She enjoyed her 3-day-a-week program but “toddler” is the least impressive of Westmont’s programs…and may still be the hardest to get into)
- Early Childhood program fo 3-to-6-year-olds (both London and Maddie spent two highly successful years in this amazing program)
- Full-day Kindergarten program (we skipped this one to start the excellent public Kindergarten program at Mendham Township Elementary School)
- Enrichment classes in music, art and science
- Summer camp
- Extended day from 7:30am - 6:00pm (came in handy whenever our full-time nanny called in sick)
You don’t have to take my word for it, you can see for yourself…Westmont is having an open house on Saturday, November 15th from 10:00am - Noon.
